Child abuse is the subject of great community concern and the focus of the legislative and professional communities as well. Everyone in the community can help break the cycle of child abuse. It is often difficult to discuss these issues and acknowledge that children of all ages can be vulnerable to abuse from strangers and family members as well.Informed, aware parents who make it their business to educate themselves about child abuse, communicate with their children and with the people who come in contact with their children are best able to protect their children from sexual abuse.
